Saviours Who?

So we are in the 21st century! We are dreaming of becoming a modern nation. Mera Bharat Mahaan. Bharat Mata ki jai. As we march further into the 21st century, the Indian Nation confronts two types of threat - one external and one internal.

The external threat is from the extrimists, the gun trotting, trigger happy deranged 'animals'. Only recently we have witnessed the Mumbai Episode. India bled.

The other threat, Internal, is from 'within', from the self-styled 'Thekedars'. This is more disturbing and dangerous. Yes, more disturbing and dangerous. I feel ashamed of being an Indian when my fellow countrymen resort to what I feel is the most base act of humanity - hurting other innocent citizens, just because you have a different viewpoint. Whether it is MNNS in Maharashtra, or attacks on Christians or Sikhs, or the illegal Moral Police which hurts the great ones like MF Hussain. They march into schools, homes, functions, offices and hurt the Indian citizens and damage property and derive saddistic pleasure. The more recent Manglore Pub Attack by SRS activists on our women, the reason for this writeup, do not make me proud as an Indian. All such incidents are a National Shame. Nobody has a right to do so. In Indian democracy, not even the State has this authority. This is our democracy. The greatest in the world, despite these abberations.

Agreed different people have differnet views. It is a matter of debate and policy decision whether India should have a Pub Culture, whether other Western concepts are desirable or not. The laws exist to check illegal acts. We have different Institutions in our democratic set up which can tackle such situations. So why do we need moral policing? Ye Samaj Ke Thekedar Kaun? Who has authorised these law breakers to terrorise innocent Indians? Who are the Saviours of the Nation - Hooligans or the law abiding citizens? If this Talibanisation goes unchecked, India will become another Pakistan or Afganistan.

If theese hooligans cannot tolerate the liberal Indian Democracy, why should the liberal Indian democracy tolerate them?

This is why, India has to wake up, raise it's voice, build up public opinion and enact tougher laws to combat the terrorism from within. India resides in its villages,I being one of them, and India resides in its Youth, I being one of them,. Shri Advanii ji is guiding us, 'Ek Kaam Desh Ke Naam'. Let the Youth of India make this cause of fighting the 'terror within', their Ek Kaam Desh Ke Naam. Let the Youth be the Saviours of India.

Let us stand up for what we feel, what is good for us, what is good for the country. Let us make the Indian political leadership more responsible. Let us ask for Good Governance, Secure India and Happy Indians.
Mera Bharat Mahaan. Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
